El Senor de los Cielos

El Senor de los Cielos is one program you do not want to miss out on this year. The upcoming production features Rafael Amaya. He will play the role of Humberto Zaira, an American drug lord. Being a drug baron, Zaira transports drugs through airports in Mexico and the United States. He owns a large fleet of jets, which he uses for the transportation of the drugs. Unfortunately, he dies while undergoing a plastic surgery to change his looks to avoid being caught.

The Lord of the Heavens

‘The Lord of the Heavens’ will remake and relive the story of a notorious drug lord. At the time of his death, the drug lord will be considered to be one of the wealthiest criminals in the world with an estimated fortune of US $25 billion. The soap will feature twists and turns of the drug baron’s life and how he accumulated his wealth. It will bring out an ultimate dramatic sensation. Telemundo Studios and Caracol TV will produce the program, whose roots are in Columbia. According to the production companies, this telenovela will be the most expensive soap opera to be produced to date.

La Reina del Sur 2

This telenovela will be a sequel to La Reina del Sur, and will be broadcasted on Telemundo. The previous production aired in 2011 and it was a big hit, recording the highest number of viewers and gross profit compared to other telenovelas ever produced. Kate del Castillo, who was the main star in the first production will not appear in the sequel.

The story of La Reina del Sur 2 follows the life of Teresa Mendoza, who is one of the biggest Mexican drug traffickers. The drug lord is famous for running an elaborate drug trafficking chain in Mexico. Even though the main character is a woman, she is able to control her business despite operating in a male dominated world. The precursor to the sequel will be the most expensive telenovela that Telemundo has ever produced and broadcasted with an estimated budget of $10 million at the time of production.
